Been talking to the new guy who has started at my work, and it turns out he fields a car in the 750 motor club hot hatch championship. It sounds like a good laugh, and i have been wanting to do something like trackdays, but possibly a little more serious for a while. Was thinking of all the cars to use, many decent ones spring to mind but to be honest i would like to stick to what i know, and unfortunately its corsas
Basically i wondered if it were possible to get a corsa down to 625kg in 1.4 form or the more realistic 800kg in 1.6 form, without the use of fiberglass pannels?
What sort of money does an uber spec 1.4/1.6 (circa 200bhp) cost these days? similar to a 2.0 pushing 300bhp?

Also taking views on other cars that would be good to use and have easily available tuning parts.. ie 106 etc etc nothing over 1600cc tho

106 Gti would be a fairly light car and great handleing , can get 160 bhp roughly fairly easy for not too much money .

stock hatch would be much cheaper to get into, as you are not allowed to modify the engines..

800kg is the minimum weight allowed for any engined car over 1.4 multivalve
