CTR is the cheapest and probably much more fun and raw than the other 2 though the engine really has to be worked to get the best out of it and they get abit thirsty when you do that.

personally i would have CTR out the list and have some change, or look at a DC5 ITR or focus RS if your more than happy to spend s3 money

Don't want to spend more than £12k really. Do R32s come in that sort of price range, i have seen a few for that sort of price, but i want a clean one realistically

i wouldnt know, though if thats the very bottom of the price range for them i personally wouldnt, my mate had one and looked into them for ages and theres alot that can/does go wrong on ropey models.

the heldex 4wd and engine fans not kicking in causing the engine to blow are the 2 i can think of off the top of my head

Thats why i didnt really look into them, due to them being out of my price range. And as you say, cheaper one normally have issues.

also the 12k mark will get you an e46 330ci sport, not as in your face as an r32 and some moan about the driving position but i know someone who has one and its about the same pace as an r32 but better on fuel

There nice. But i think there abit to nice tbh. Think people might start challenging me due to my age and driving a BMW. They might think i'm trying to be a 'big man'
