Good laugh, well worth it, take your own car and make sure you have track insurance just in case

track insurance covers you - if you hit someone else, 3rd party only... i.e. doesn't pay out if you smash your own car up or get hit by someone else.
I've never bothered.

I don't know why but i could never take my own car on a track.
Just the thought of ragging the shit out of it and it blows up scares the life out of me.Now if it was some other buggers car

Strange... I'm the opposite ... If I took someone elses car out (which I have) I'm worried that if I stack it / blow it up, It'll be damaging their car.
In my car, it's only my own things that I'm risking, plus I know how to drive it and the limits. To be honest, anyone who's been out on track with me, will appriciate that I can happily drive at the limit in it (while passing most cars), while also having a conversation about what I'm doing, what the weather is like or anything else
I was giving someone a commentary once and they told me to 'please just concentrate on the driving'. - Thing is, people are worried about being collected by other cars, but you drive sensibly, if someone is quicker than you (or even if they're not, but just constantly behind you) - just pull over and let them by... If they're taking odd lines be aware of that, give them space, obviously don't overtake on the bends etc.
Closest I've ever had is a lotus esprite and ferrari 360 spinning off infront of me because the driver was a tit. But just eased off and drove around them.
