i know the thread title is a repost but i have your attention.
i am a southerner....always have live "in the South". brought up in Didcot, Oxon, uni at Coventry, a 1yr placement in Brighton then now in Cambridge but i've just finished reading a book which opened my eyes to "the north"

Amazon
its written by a northerner not to prove the cliches or to fight the North Vs south arguement but opens the readers eyes to "the north"
its a brilliant read and shows just what being "northern" is all about and shows how hard it is to claim your in the "north". i highly recommend it to all, Northern or Southern it will be a great read. it was a little difficult to get into as its a different writing style than i am used to and some references went over my head - partly cos i'm Southern and some cos im only 22! but seriously put it on your xmas list!

Badgers eat pies?
Nothing wrong with pies, my Dad had a pie shop for 18 months, I was sick of the sight of pies by the end of it
