OK, so I'm considering an Elise 111R and an Exige for my new car (not for a while yet)... if you guys had the choice of eithe r aslightly newer, less melage, higher specced 111R or an older, higher milage less specced Exige (bare in mind they share the same engine etc. so no performance diff), which would you all go for?

depends if you can put up with the Exige..
S2 i take it so its not as quite as hardcore as an S1 Exige.
If you at all bothered about having the rook off, get the Elise, If you want a tin top get the Exige.
I'd go exige.

PS... have you test driven one yet?
I had some issues with legs and steering wheel in an S2 Elise R.
190bhp NA engine is fun though... screamer

I'd go for the Elise, everything is better apart from possibly the looks (it's quicker to 100 too)

Probably the Elise, more discrete, same power as you say and more than likely cheaper to buy and insure too.

Yeah S2, would be a 2nd car so the problems associate dwith an Exige day to day arent improtant
Also would have a hardtop on the Elise either way lol

Yep Elise is cheaper all round (other than running costs obv)
Id like the option to be able to ahve no roof in the summer but u can do that with the exige as well iirc

C/C Sidepods from Exige, oval exhaust, LED rear lights and rear badging form the MY06 and a rear spoiler form the impending Elise S/C along with soem carbon interior goodies would be some choice mods for an Elise

Actually, the Exige looks a lot better than the Elise there, even with the roof off.
Front end looks wider?

Definately Exige, looks much better, much more fun. Every time I see an Elise I think "Nice, but more for posing than driving hard"

More so than an Exige, yes.
Doesn't help that most times I see them women are driving.
