found sum new wheels for my car, but the offset is 40, will they scrub? does this mean that they will sit in the arches or sit out of the arches. Ive never really understood this. If the lower the offset is does that mean the wheel sticks further out of the arch or further into the arch??

further out of the arch, the lower the offset is.

40 will be fine though.
