pretty much im looking at the alpine type r stuff to go with my alpine head unit and ive seen some 17cm components for the front and some 13cm coaxials for the rear and i just have a few questions

firsty do i need to run them from amps or can i just use the wiring thats there?
secondly components come with like a box, what do they do? where would you connect that? to the output to the main door speaker and it splits it between the speaker and tweeter?

they will sound much better when they are amped. it gives it a lot more power (louder) and little distortion. connect the tweeter (small speaker for treble) and the main woofer (big speaker) to the box and connect the box to either the amp or your headunit.
