But on the issue of flooding, i think developers should pay towards a scheme where the EA would buy fields around potential flood areas as an overflow contingency, even make them into nature reserves. Instead of making the developer cater for 1 in 100 year + 30% climate change flows on their small sites in the scheme of things, which can be quite significant amount of additional storage measures.

How can you not believe in Global Warming? So the Ice Age didn't happen?

And as for flooding, if people weren't so fucking stupid then they wouldn't develop so much land on flood planes.

Take Maidenhead for example. The most stupid place to put housing I have ever seen. My school used to flood every year, everyones houses used to flood every year all around the Thames. Why? Global Warming? I think not.

That and the fact that floods cycle in intesity if you look at them statisticly. The probability is that you would suffer a very minor flood every year, this would be classed as a 1 in ever 2 year flood, but say one year the whole town ended up under water, that would be your one in every hundred year flood, flood defences aren't designed to cope with floods that don't occur all the time, again demostrating peoples stupidity when they whinge that flood defences aren't big enough.

A few moons ago "they" said that we had a big problem with a hole in the ozone layer
The planet fixed it's self.
There has been a time where there were more CO2 and HC and more in the air BUT that was about 10,000 years ago.
I'm sure that cars have only been round for the last 1000 years
My point is.... GET OVER IT!!!
The planet will sort itself out.
Now where is my Dodge SRT10!!!!

I think one point people are forgetting. Fossil fuels are a finite source when they are being used at the current rate.

Let's get serious about the Flintstones. It's far more interesting than reading people type shit about stuff they know nothing about.

As a transition fuel. You would need to plant an area of land the size of the UK to make enough biodiesel to fuel the country. Saying that though, if the fucking Africans would stop shooting each other you could do it there.

But if they kill everyone off, then there is more land to plant on
Win Win all round.
