i just fitted a leamaul to my 1.6 sport and is reving to 5 and then starts gruddling a bit plus engine manigment light is on help much apriciated

There is an air leak. Mine did the same.

Use lots of gasket paste and tighten from the middle out.

ive been told that by a few people now whats the best way to find out if they is an air leak

Spray carb cleaner round the joints as it's running. You'll know when you get to the leaky bit, car runs funny.

Push down on it hard. It'll not be as bad then you'll know that that is where the air is getting in.

found the problem the rubber bit on the throttle body has a slit in it so i need 2 get a new 1

if you havent replaced the upper inlet manifopld gasket this will be the problem, also a lot of the time the vacume hoses on the xe engines split, check them all then replace the manifold gasket if you didnt do it when you put the manifold on. they are around £7+vat from vauxhall

i split that rubber pipe once think it cost £27 from vaux to replace it, i felt muged

is it always good to get a new manifold gasket when you change it coz ive got a lexmaul on the way but i jus changed mine bout 6 months ago

I have the rubber joiner - only a few months old from when i did my lexmaul.

rubber hose just go and find some fuel hose that wil fit thats what i did. and the manifold gasket, well its cheaper to get it from vauxhall i found.

i got a new rubber bit and got it sorted and well pleased with the performance of the lexmaul glad i baught it
