Offered to work overtime new week as im off on holiday but wont be doing anything and need a bit more cash but they wont let me work as its against the law to work your holiday days??

I used to to this at Tesco and they had no problems with it, it there an actual law against this?

The idea is that im on holiday, but i will work so that i get holiday pay and overtime pay, if that makes sense

oh you mean so you say get £30 for it being a holiday day then £45 for working it making it £75 for the day? yeh sounds illegal

I do this at the end of each year, if i have holiday days to take from my full time ill take them and then go and work my part time job for the day

Yeah that was the deal, lol, time and a half for overtime and dont realy need all my holiday days so wud rather work them and get paid instead

cancel holidays then get the money fro them at the end of the year when your new holidays should start.

Some places up here also let you sell your holidays back

I used to work my holiday all the time at Sainsburys. I worked so little I didn't need holiday. Double pay whilst working holiday too

I used to work at Tesco and they didnt mind this at all but at my new place there really funny about it, i wanted to work them so that i have some extra money for christmas. Neva mind
