Last night/this morning the door on my C was keyed. Taken a big chunch out of the paint. Ive been thinking about trying to do it with cans myself due to the cost issue but i know it will probabaly look horrible.

Does anyone know of any places around brum (north) that do good/cheap work and could do it ASAP? I asked a garage down the road from me here and they quoted £200! Sounds alot to me but i dont really know much on the prices of these kind of things. Any info would be great!

Its a driver side door on a 3 door Corsa C SRi. Its black in colour.

£200 sounds pretty reasonable to me.

Cans will look shocking, especially as the keyed bit sounds deep.

Both prices sound ok. Its not just a case of slapping a bit of paint on, its the prep time and strip time they charge for, i.e taking out the handle, taking off the mirror etc. Guessing its not metallic, lucky there other wise they would have probly had to blend into the quarter and the wing.

Its a pearlescent paint. Vauxhall Sapphire black i believe. One of the places i went to did say they'd probably have to blend it in with the other panels.

You'll need to get it blended. They'll probably end up painting most of the door where it's been keyed and then laquering most of the side of the car to get an even finish. You don't want your car to look like a patchwork quilt really.

So £200 is a fair price then? Does seem like a bigish job after all i guess

Well, its only 3 years old and it would have to be from another SRi, otherwise i'd have to start pulling the strips off the doors and stuff.
