hey getting couple of noises at moment from my 1.4...bin having a clicking for a while but took the car on a gud drive yesterday and the clicking has gone ...had it since i run low on oil and didnt notice, thought maybe cam damage...
ive just got the rocker cover off to give me sum room so have a listen for the other 1/2 noises ive been getting...ive got a rattle when im revving at about 2000rpm rattle does explain the noise as sounds abit like a babys rattle...its nothing internal i dont think, i took it to a garage recently and they said it was probably an "eletric valve" "which controls emittions"...well i wondered if its just sumthing loose sumwhere along the line?
SORRY IF I SOUND RETARDED! just i dont know much...looking to learn abit lol
anyway the is a tube running to sumthing just under the inlet manifold to under the water (coolant) tank VERY thin tube...which has a 90 degree joint in it...this 90 degree bend of rubber has warn away from at some point being derected under instead of over another tube (which leads to the coolant tank)
basically all i want to know is what this tubes for and what it does, also if its not connected what would happen, cause it hasnt been connected for a while im guessing
fast replys would be great as its freezing outside and my only day off this week

The 2000rpm rattle could be the engine 'pinking'

when was your cambelt/tensioner/idlers last changed?
the thin tube eith a 90degree rubber pipe at the end sounds like a vaccume pipe...
