Had a little read through it today in work...

Your thoughts on the CGT taper releief changes?
Inheritance tax changes?

Also one for AK and possibly Koling to take note...from 2008 all those tax dodging by not being in the country for a percentage of the year...the new changes are that the day you leave the UK and the day you return are now classed as you being domiciled here...thus meaning your going to have to go abroad more to meet the requirements....

The IHT changes really arent something you could of done without a carefully worded will trusts anyway, so TBH its only making it clear to the masses rather than an actual policy change.

The other changes are fairly interesting, especially the CGT Taper relief, considering the Govt. has done nothing but try to encourage entrepreneurialship for years now, and this is kind of a kick in the teeth for those that did pick up on this. Thing is though with the EIS scheme they offer its not going to hit those who they are really aiming for, but rather the 'small-time' businesses who may get screwed over.

Yep, but the Govt. is making out that its really going to take money off the super rich - when they have a million and one other ways to not pay that money.
