There 'was' a net over it... now just a shredded mess

Wonder how hard it would be to build an electric net...

Depends how it's constructed.... 12" above the waterline, plastic poles... Just a low current - enough to give a slight buzz but nothing more...

If its not going to have any effect on the fish at all, whack 240V through it

Iv got loads of nice koi and ghoast carp etc, i live in the sticks as well so get loads of herons, iv shot at a few with my .177 but its abit cruel to be honest. Now i just use a large net over my pond and if do land i shoot at them with my old school black widow catapult, it dosnt really hurt them just shits them right up so they dont come back

I can easily make a device which will do 180v with 0.5A current Just enough to snap a shock but no major deadly damage

We have a thing connected to our hose pipe. Its a motion detector with a spray nozzle/sprinkler style thing attached.

If something moves it goes nuts and sprays water at it.

Caught me out a few times i tell thee

We get 1 or two herons, but we also have a dog who likes to kill birds
