Always thought they would make a good base for such an engine. Some else I keep wanting to do is drop a tomcat engine into a mgf, it should be a direct fit an make for a great sleeper lol.

You can get a 1.8T engine for about £500 these days.
Most of the money is because you need to cut the chassis leg, which is bonded aluminium

My mums got an elise and tbh theres not alot of power there realy, didnt feel THAT much faster than my corsa but and its quite abit but
Send it into any corners you want, turn the wheel where you want to go and easy as that

But its not a standard elise, i'm just liking the idea of power to weight ratio's and rear wheel drive

how much torque? That much torque and turbocharged power delivery will make that very hairy in the bends i imagine
