True. How many times have you been wrongly accused, out of interest?
People want something that will allow them to speed and not get caught. Not this junk.

it only records an average spped so how on earth could it stand up in court? they could say you were doing 1mph then sped up to 40mph then back to 1mph again

it just measures average speed by distance, say you went down a stretch of road, 3 quarters of the way you drove at 3mph then the last quarter you drove 60mph.
it only would measure your speed over the distance so the actual speed your doing would average out to less than 60mph.
(thats all just random numbers by the way i didnt work that out lol)
were as a police speed camera clocks you in an instant at that point in time.
not sure how long the distance is measured over though, dont know how it held up in court.
and yes its useless really, its just a bit better than normal gps devices at reading speed.

i read some research the otherday that the overall conclusion was that a true speed reading can only begained by at 0degrees to the direction of travel. For every degree out it can be up to 0.2% variation. thats allot if they are taking your speed rating at 45degree+.
Also when they use the incar speed thing and measure from point to point. ive always thought they the perception of the point crossed is complete objective. so could be WAY out

The point a lot of you are missing is; if the equipment is accurate to half a meter then it could calculate your average speed over a meter, and so on. Assuming that the device measures your location using GPS technology it would be possible for the device to have an accuracy of approximately 1m, so in short it is a far more accurate device than a speed camera, or a laser.

I bet the only reason it has government funding is so they can start slapping it in all cars and measuring your speed constantly, won't need speed traps then.

If you can show me a road car which can do that in 50cm, I'll give you a million pounds.
