Looking at possibly buying a 96-97 golf tdi.

All i know is that its a 1.9tdi. These engines good? Whats the power and mpg like?

Any other info will be appreciated.

usual rust spots, door side sills under rubbers
top windscreen edge of roof, arches. bootlock surround.

not sure bout engine tho but basics ^
