right 2 years ago my dad died suddenly and he had a audi a4 p reg 1.8
we gave it to my uncle who has now decided to sell it,
to be totally honest he has treated it like shit and its not in the best condition like my dad kept all his cars!
i have first refusal on it and im not sure he will sell it for much as he got it from us for free.
i kind of think he should just give it back to me, but i reckon he will want something for it,
as im 17 i dont reckon i could insure it, especially while paying for my corsa insurance too!
only thing is i used to love this car, and it always reminds me of my dad( and thats a good thing) i dont think i would like to see it wrecked by someone else around my area, (i even hate seeing my uncle drive it around) and i also dont not what to see it ever again if someone from another area bought it, so im really stuck on what to do, i reckon i could get it back to looking great, some nice little mods (looks wise) maybe a respray im really not sure!!
so basically help me out!!
i need help lol!!

Get it back
Do you have anywhere to store it until you can restore/insure it?

I agree, i think if as lil_g said, if you could store it somewhere, SORN it and keep it off road, maybe create a project and get as much done to it to bring it up to perfect condition, maybe a little memoir

it'd be nice to have it back, but you don't necessarily have to drive it. restore it to its former glory as your dad would have wanted and drive it round in afew years time when you can afford it. hopefully it'll also be tip top by then

if it was your dads it should goto you now for free, and someone will insure u might be a high price but tbh sell your corsa if it means alot to you.
deffinatly shouldnt have to pay for it though.

in all fareness, he should give it to you as he didnt pay for it...if he ask's for money, then remind him who's car it was ! im sure if he has a heart the keys will be in your pocket straight away

Selling it doesn't mean you have to see it again.
Its a tough one as what you propose will be expensive even if you get the car for free, you still need to insure and tidy it. Plus if you're in any way emotionally attached to it, you have to consider what would happen if you got it back, cleaned it up and then something happened to it.
Its nice to have a keepsake but a owning a car is a bit more complicated than that.
