Basically cut a long story short, ive done a bit of saving and will be getting a new car at the end of Oct, have narrowed it down to:
Brabus Roadster

Pros: Cheap to Insure, Tax and easy on petrol
Cons: Semi Auto, Not that fast.
Clio 182:

Pros: Pretty Nippy, Fairly well built, Easy to get hold of, cheaper than Roadster
Cons: Higher Tax, insurance and Petrol Costs, not that rare anymore
Lupo GTi:

Pros: Had one previously so know they are fun and well build, can afford top of the range, ie leather and other extras.
Cons: Hard to get hold of minters with low milage, would want to mod and make faster
I am open to other options around the same price range

Smart, because one of the secretaries at my old school used to have a silver one, looks and sounded mint. But they are a joke in terms of speed/practicality.
Clio would be the obvious choice, but I'd chose the Lupo. Always loved them, and quite rare.

Swaying towards the smart because even though there only 101bhp standard, they can be tuned to 130bhp, which in a plastic shell im sure you could have some fun rear wheel drive action

I just think they are noddy cars - not a serious car. Most folk know what a lotus is & why its cool. Smart cars are for folk that want to be able to park parallel to the curb in crammed city streets
