Went to Halfrauds earlier to see about getting a new coil. They dont stock them so had to order one in.
Had a look on there system and there was about 7 different options for an 89 Astra GTE. So i took a gamble with one, went down just now and its the wrong one. It was some random one that was about a quater of the length of mine.
This is mine:
Does anyone have any ideas what mine could be off? or a lucas/bosch part number? There were a couple listed for specific engine numbers, but my block doesn't have a normal 20xe number for some reason.
Any help appreciated.

round tooth, square tooth, early, late ecu type?
Makes no odds which block it is its the loom etc...... isnt it ????

I know it uses an FP ecu which is meant to be early i think.
Basically the problem i have is that there is no spark, so was gonna wack on a new coil and see if that does anything. It's done this before and sometime's there is power getting to the coil, but sometimes there's no power. Sounds more wire related than coil tbh but thought i'd try.

Sorry to sound thick, I'm not too clued up on electrical side of things. What's the coil module?

black thing under the coil with the wiring plug, the ignition amplifier module

Oh yeah, i see it. How can i test to see if thats working?
If i can test the coil and its bust, then i'll take you up on that Muppet

Just buy one and try it they dont cost much from a motorfactors
