Was discussing this in the pub last night and this was almost exactly what i said. Its a joke. Prison for some people is a better quality of life! Fucking stupid.

My missus used to work in a cat a prison, and its not quite a pleasant experience as some of you are making out to be locked up.

However i do agree with a few things.

Even though its not nice I still dont think its harsh enough.

Financially its draining, it costs 30k per prisoner per year.

The problem with death sentences is the risk of doing it to someone thats later found innocent, one of the reasons it was abolished i believe.

Take that couple who were found guilty of killing the daughter with the salt, then a year or so later found innocent, how awful would that have been if they wouldve been sent to the chair

Yes Steve but they wouldn't have been given the death penalty. It's not eye for an eye in all murder case's. Harold Shipman, Ian Huntley, and other cases with nailed on guilty people are where it should be used.

As for Prisons, I went to Woodhill when it first opened and again recently for a job interview, it's not as horrible as it should be.
