before i decide to take apart my block.
came back from holiday - 6 days away, started up the valver and there's a big noticable knocking (was audible before on startup in the morning) louder than usual.
Sounds like the big end bearings etc.. getting worn?
Anyone else think this? Dull/sliiightly metallic thudding that dissapears after a minute or so.
Car still runs fine but slower overall.
Just if im going to take the engine apart i'd rather cheat and do crank bearings one by one with sump off, than replace the whole shell.
Cheers.

Lifters?
If it has sat for a while the oil will gradually drain out of them so will need to refill and pump up.
Is it coming from the top end or the block?

block easy peasy towards the back in the middle it seems
engines not running as fast as it should be so i thought it might be the bearings meaning its not spinning up as well.
sometimes on start up it has a really loud tap for a second or two but i think that might be a lazy tappet so nothing major.

well it doesnt mean the bearings are totally knackered. it just means theyre going or are flattened or somethind along those lines
edit - maybe i should just save for a rebuild. But really i dont want to....
2k should cover it with just cams and pistons uprated. everything else standard.
the sounds definatly not from the head though.
