nah, not true. If they were in before the ban then you could register the dogs and then the above rules apply. I also think male pitbulls had to be castrated or whatever it is!

when the new law come in not so long back they clamped down an distroyed loads. I am 100% on this as i know someone who had one killed, which was 7. They also took one of its pups. They said they will be checking them out and returning them but got a letter through saying both dogs have been destroyed, was the actual police that took them too

As I said they had to be in before the laws (1991 I think) or around that time. Which is more than 7yrs ago....so hence why it was destroyed.

yes sorry also castrated.

my aunties nxt door neighbour had two pitbulls never had to be put to sleep. If the pitbull has being proven to the court as being friendly and no harm to either animal or person then they will not be put to sleep. There has just being a case where there pet pitbull was in police kennels for 6 months till went to court and was proven friendly so was given back to the owners

The court heard that Sharples, who has owned the dog for 12 months, was unaware it was a pit bull-type dog, but experts found it came under the Dangerous Dogs Act, although it was not a pure breed.

Dr Roger Mugford, who is an expert on dog breeds, said: "The owner can be forgiven for not knowing the dog type. It is an expert knowledge.

"As a puppy it would not have been apparent to me, let alone Sharples. It is a cross between a Staffordshire bull terrier and a boxer.

"I did some tests on the dog and I found him to be delightful."

wat it is sayin is that the owner thought and was told it was a staff x boxer. but appantly there is some pitbull in there which means is illegal unless otherwise proven friendly

If a dog was 3/4 staff and 1/4 pitbull would that be illegal to own?

Mate has just bought a pup. Mum is 1/2 staff and 1/2 pitbull - Dad is full staff.

No can do.

We are currently in the middle of a century long war between Clowns and Dogs, we are hoping these new half-breeds will join the two factions together, and until then will remain tightly guarded *

*this may not be true, and may be based around the storyline of Underworld.
