just wondered if there was any differences on the standard corsa shells, strength etc between models like 1.2 ls and sport/sri's or is it all cosmetic? im want to build a cheap 2.0 with all the looks of a sport etc

They're all the same, give or take a few things on the ones from 97 onwards

would it be worth while taking the time to seem weld the shell seen as i cant get a rollcage? or would it be worth tryin to get one made that retains the rear seats i wonder?

Diesel Shell is the most strongest apparently, stengthened more for diesel power

They're not identical - the chassis legs differ but this doesn't affect overall strength. I think there were some revisions in 1997 to sort the B pillar issue but I'm not sure what.

You want to retain all the seats?

no differnce in shell strength in any corsa b shell for definate. as u say maybe the b pilar rectification on 97- etc but no difference in base/sporty models etc

diesels and gsi/sport shells had tripple skin chasis legs compared to double skin of lower models

a chasis leg is single skinned, engines/fishing or wotever maybe ur thing, bodywork is mine. chassis legs are single skinned but heavier steel than say the likes of front panels
