Its Haldex, basically its FWD until it detects loss of traction at the back, then it transfers some drive to the rear.

I was having a play with an S3 last night. He got past me before a left hand bend. Went round the bend and it didn't look very stable at all. Twitching all over the show.

Driven one when the 225 was an optional upgrade, a good 4+ years ago (think they were about 200 standard or something back then).

Very smooth, picked up speed quickly, comfortable, nice place to be.

But as a drivers car, excitment it does not have. Stearing was too light, didn't turn in as quickly as expected. They broke the mould with regards to hot hatches, took the quality a step forward, but theres much better out there, especially now with the current "hot hatch war" going on.
