Hey,
I have a '98 5 door Corsa B. Just bought 4 16" alloys originally off a renault laguna. They fit on just fine, they fit in the arches. But the fronts of the front tyres hit a strut underneath on full lock.
So I guess I need to space them out. Where do I get spacers? How much should I be thinking of spacing? Anything else I should be thinking about?
And which tyres should I be going for? Want fairly low profile, and sticky-ish, but as always money's an issue.
Thanks

I think a 45 profile is your standard low profile tyre mate, depends how much you've got to spend on tyres, as to what make..you should be able to get wheel spacers from halfords

Thanks for that, Looking at spacers it seems 3mm is fairly standard. That doesn't sound like very much at all! I suppose they're cheap I can give it a go.
And if I space out the fronts do I need to space out the rears? Obviously they're not fouling on anything.

Chances are if they're from a Laguna, the offset is wrong, which would cause the catching on lock.
Spacing them would probably make it worse.

Surely changing the offset is exactly what spacers are for...?

Correct, but spacers push the wheels out, and the Laguna will have a lower offset, so the wheels will sit further out anyway.

Sorry dragging this up once more.
Just measured the wheel, and as far as I can tell the offset is 52mm?. Because the rim width seems to be 195mm. And from the back of the bolt plate to the edge of the inside rim is 150mm. So half the width is 97.5mm.
Anyone know the offset on standard corsa 13" steelies?
Stamped onto the Laguna wheels is:
6.5Jx16
4CH50
1615 1
HLI
Prestige.
No idea what any of that means. Any help much appreciated.

So 3mm spacer and I might be cushtie.
They fit inside the arches ok. And are ok on lock at the rear of the tyre, just not the front.

Ok this is still rattling around in my head. Standard wheels are 5Jx13 with a 165 section tyre.
The new ones are 6.5Jx16 with a 205 section tyre. A 3mm spacer will sort the offset but I guess that means the tyre is 40mm wider. So 20mm less clearance for it to catch at the front.
They seem to have a fair bit of space before they overhang the bodywork, so that's not really an issue, but I guess I can't space them out 23mm that'd be a bit nuts.
Does anyone agree that a 10mm spacer should see me sorted? And still, if I space out the front, do I need to space the rear?
