They're similarly priced, and both around the same cost to insure for me.
For anyone unsure, the VTi model has the 158bhp VTEC engine... and I'm sure you all know about the 106 GTi!
I've driven an SiR model Del Sol, but the guy wouldn't let me get into VTEC on the test drive, though when I was passenger he took it right round the rev range, felt quick and I quite liked the low down sporty feel it had to it.
I've never driven or been in a 106 GTi.
So what would you choose and why?

I would chose the GTI personally, but id be biased as to the fact its not japanese and ive more experience with 106s. I dont doubt the CRX is a good car though, especially with a VTEC.

Anyone know which is quicker in standard form, both in a straight line, and in terms of handling?

I'm guessing he thinks the Del Sol is a bit girly?
The fact it's a convertible is a plus point to me though.

I don't mind them, but I'd prefer a proper CRX V-Tec over the Del Sol.

Do you want a small hot hatch or do you want a 2 seater with an electric fold away roof?
Other then that not much in it handling/performance wise.
Honda more reliable but offset that it will be much older then the 106?

I like the idea of both... the 106 because it's a proper hot hatch and I've always liked them. The Del Sol is something a bit different though and I like the idea of having a convertible for those summer months!
Anyone know how deep the boot is on the Del Sol? I wouldn't say I need a practical car or anything but I'm wondering if I'd fit a suitcase or 2 in it if I were to go on holiday!

if your gonna get a del sol get the sir, better than the vti,lsd as standard iirc n a 170bhp engine,,dnt get a leccy roof may look cool, but they go wrng n big money 2 repair n the boot is smaller,,get a manual roof,more/bigger boot space, n lighter

Cheers, but the SiR is a lot more expensive to insure!
