I never had my 10,000 or 20,000 mile service done by vauxhall but they still fixed my car when the engine blow up I even started moaning at them about how bad it was that the engine went at such low mileage on a 2 year old car. The bird went and seen her boss and gave me another 2 years warentry on the engine and upped the mileage to 90,000 miles

Get a rubbber Skoda stamp off eBay 
I thought that price was pretty cheap, but I'm used to the horror stories of my dad having his M3 serviced at BMW.
I'd go to an independent VAG servicer - there are some around, and one in MK, although I know that is quite far from you. The stamp will look just as good, more so than a 'standard' garage.
