Im aware they are metal, i have some spares to try spraying.

Thing is, ive read mixed thoughts on the process, my thought was that they would need to be rubbed down and sprayed with etch primer.
But its ran out so to save me fetching some more, i was wondering whether it could be sprayed with normal grey primer and then sprayed black and laquered (sp).

I read this could be done, but then also read similar to my first thought about etch primer.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Marc

Would that not come off when rubbing them down slightly? taking it back to bare metal.

I thought they were plastic, till i took them off at teh scrappys, broke the clips, so found another corsa and tried again, broke them so found another one and....success

Checked mine, and mine are metal too.

Decided to do it properly and went and fetched some etch primer.

Reckon i could smooth out the bits that slide to let the roof bars clip in?

i mean remove them and either weld the chanel full or use filler, then the whole roof is smooth

What I did was rubbed them down with the different grade sandpapers until smooth then used normal grey primer, black paint then two heavy coats of laqure. The result was great
