recently rebuild the let but time for steel rods. pistons are 0.5mm oversize so block was rebored a year or so ago and compression is spot on. will i get away with rings and a hone or is a rebore always advisable no matter what circumstances. dont wona be passing oil after a couple of months

as long as the bores are unmarked and still round (not likley to have gone oval but worth checking) then a hone and new rings is fine

dont supose you no if mahle pistons use stock rings 86.5mm or do you have to buy replacement rings from mahle? bought the pistons from regal but they didnt seem to interested when i rang them. badgers

find a local Mahl stockist. if you still dont find any gve me a ring as we can get rings in for any application.

yeah, so whats wrong with using old rings? if there isnt anything wrong with them or the bore i mean.

why? mark up the piston as to which bore it came from, maybe someone will offer great insight into why this is a bad idea, but if ive taken pistons out and there hasnt been a problem i just put them back in the cylinder it came out of and thats that. i will be wrong though

no not at all. prob only done less than 10k. had so many clock sets though ive lost count
