Dad sold his E36 AMG couple of weeks back and came home in this....

It is immense.

Fully loaded with just about every toy Merc do at the moment (sadly no night vision as on the S Class) but its got Keylessgo, Tyre Pressure sensors, Airmatic suspension which you can specify how stiff the dampers should be and lower/heighten the car at the touch of a button, Sunroof (an extra 'cos they come with climate control), Full Red Leather, etc... etc.. could sit here all day listing bits

It's got the full AMG kit and exhaust system on it which is nice. My dad said he couldn't go back to true AMG ownership as hes getting old and they're complete money pits. Eating tyres and drinking petrol like no tomorrow.

This one is the 3.5 V6 with new 7G tiptronic gearbox (the one everyone has been raving about) very nice, smooth, civilised but can still be fun when you want it to (not as fun as a CLS55 AMG obv!)

I didn't like them when they came out - but in Silver with the kit and 19" AMG rims I love it

CLS is just about the most beautiful mass produced car at the moment.

I would like a 63 in black please.

Was his E36 a W124 series?

If so, bad idea to sell it. He will never find another car with build quality like that, even his CLS.

No he had the W210 E36 AMG like:

Awesome car too, built like a tank.

Very thirsty though and when it needed replacement parts - cost a bomb.

I know what you mean the W124 are very rare:

Oh and sorry for the quality of the pics. Couldn't find the digi cam - phone camera had to do...

Nice one Gavin. Yeah the later model is a nice car. Would prefer an E55. They do rust on the arches though, plus the headlight lenses are plastic and the interior materials aren't to the same standard as the W124.

I think that black thing might be a 'Hammer', tad mental, 6.0 litre V8 AMG variant for the German market. very nice.

I do love the CLS hopefully im going to get to drive an 07 CLS550 its not an AMG but i guess thats the new badging of Merc

that older E55 must be stupidly fast last week i had to drive one back to a dealership and it was quite a beast so can only imagine how quick the 55 would be
