Well i didn't drive it but my mate did. He drives a BMW 335d 07 plate and wanted to see how this compared. And what an absolute beast The noise what a noise. Downshift and it blips the throttle, gear changes are so rough, really bangs into gear. So quick. But not sure if its as quik as his 335d.
While we were tthere the salesman showed us this Holden he just got in. Absolute monster this is. Sounded unreal!

Also while out we got into a little race, the 335d, a new M5 and and NSX, then me trying my hardest to keep up I had no chance.
Bit of an essay, but the M3 is an absolute animal.

My dad's friend owns a CSL, when you buy one you have to sign a waiver to show you'll never drive it in the wet

Hmmmm strange how you dont think the csl is quicker than the 335d! Maybe because its got low down torque so you feel more of a pull where as the csl will be on fire at the top of the rev range

Semi slick tyres Sam And yeah, I'm also surprised that the CSL didn't feel faster as it would obliterate a 335d

Around a track then yes, rolling start i think it would be different. The 335d is such a fast car for what it is. He raced a CSL on the quarter mile and he beat it, but obviously comes down to driver.
As gareth John says, the 335d has a lot of torque. Being a twin turbo, one for low down revs(first 1500rpm mi think) then the other for higher revs, you get no lag. Its just foot down and go.
This CSL had normal road tyres as far as im aware, they'd just been changed.

Sold a house to a guy with a CSL - it sounded amazintg and looked withed wit the carbon roof, the brakes are huuuuuuuge.
Unfortunatly i cant afford the CSL having to just get a normal M3 but thats good enough for me lol
