I would only be using it for 18 months & will be getting fuel costs recouped so that wont sting my pocket. After 18 months training I go to work & will be getting something more credible as I'll not be needing a car for going to work at all.

I can only budget a couple grand just now though..........

Big meaty (slow) 4x4 sounds lovely

Also due to it being slow I wont be picking up any more speeding points which is a bonus

"where a defender won't go, isn't worth f*cking going"

Henry from Superlite alloy wheels has had about 15 landrovers in his lifetime. He has crossed deserts in them and swears they are the best 4x4 in the world

This is his current one:

disco's are good fun, driven my boss's 2.5 tdi round the farm a few times, go like stink, and they're fun off road. two mates of mine from young farmers have them, one had a few probs but then he wrote it off, so its irrelevant. the other raced a 1.6 16v escort the other day along the dual carriage way and beet him hands down! certainly recomend one over a defender.

Defender is the way forward! Discos a bit car like. Awesome cars and you HAVE to get a snorkle!!!
When i worked for a land rover dealer - i did a couple of off road days, amazing what these cars can do.
if you get a 110 with seats in the back they are congestion charge exempt!!!
