Started happening to me when i was having 2 hours sleep a night and then driving to Manchester everyday.
On two occasions i was entering Liverpool via Edge Lane and would be in the left lane and then wake up and be entering the far right lane. Bearing in mind i'd already crossed the middle lane. I would have been fucked if cars were in those lanes.
Also on the way back from PVS this year had to stop because i was nodding off. Wasn't well that day and slept in a mates car most of the day with the air con on.
So yeah, don't drive if you're ill or tired. Not worth killing yourself over!

I'm supprised this hasn't turned into a 20 page thread flaming the lad. You're just as much a liability as a drunk driver when you are driving tired.

one of my mates fell asleep at the wheel on the motorway....woke up after drifting over a few lanes, hard shoulder and then slamming into the barrier.
Walked away unhurt but wrote the car off.

A friend of mine was following a 4x4 up the M40. The vehicle drove up the grass embankment, back down and through the central Armco. It hit a Mercedes with 4 passengers head on. The driver of the 4x4 got out and just said he fell asleep. The people in the Mercedes didn't get out on account of the front passengers being dead and the rear passengers being mush because they weren't wearing seatbelts.
