Wel situation is i have a new job which involves a round trip of 60miles a day, so the bm has to go, no 2 ways about it, i cant afford to run 2 cars so im left with no choice

Only problem im stuck with is - Do i get a small engined petrol to get me about or do i get a diesel??

my idea behind the small engined petrol is cheap tax cheap insurance and low petrol bills ie better mpg, as i wont be bothered about puttin 60k on it in the 3 years off having it

My other option is the diesel route, pros are that i will get better mpg then the petrol, but my insurance will stil be high, and it will more then likely be in the higher tax bracket too.

im looking at spending around 2-2.5k on a car as that way im not fussed about it being my run a round whilst i save for 3 years,

so what do you think, if you think diesel please specify as im findin it hard to find nice diesels baring in mind golfs are to expensive and are a killer on insurance, ie £4 a month less then the bm

1.0 corsa C

nippy, safer then an old car (something you want when driving long miles), cheap and cheap to insure

i was looking at smart cars but they are expensive and dont look too safe in 60mph crashes

also looked at small diesels but insurance was more, the fuel price was more and if its over a 1.6 then tax is more.

worked out that over the 18,000 a year i do in my runabout its cheaper with the petrol corsa

i keep the BMW for weekend

1.4 CDTI Citreon C1 are amazing, something like £35 a year to tax, cheap insurance and like 80mpg! 4.5k cheapest i seen tho so still works out cheaper over 3 years in a corsa

Honda break FFS They are the ame as any other car, reliable rep yes, vtec system thats aprently never failed yes. But are the immune to problems? Wear and tear? If you beleive that then your a fool!

Ive seen my fair share of accords and civics on the hard shoulders of the m4/,25 just as is ive seen bmws vaux's fords or any other make. Theres no such thing as a car that wont break down
