As the title says, got a RaceX digital RPM dial, has anyone wired one of these up before - easy/hard and how do you do it please

What wires does it have?
It'll probably have ignition live, earth, illumination, and the rev counter signal.

Got red/yellow/black/green wires coming out of it!

not 100% but this is waht I would do (Im a qualified auto electrician)
red: 12v+
black: earth
green: tacho signal
Yellow: illumination/ignition live
