Hi guys,
Right the situation with my sport is....
Car is fine apart from the fact that it needs new Piston Rings and Valve Stem Seals....
Due to the fact that they are worn away, my car burns an absolute shit load of oil... (I've put about 4Ltrs in, in about 2 months )
1st Choice... Have them replaced, I understand that the parts are cheap however labour for a Mechanic to complete the work is expensive... ( I know a guy that could perhaps do it on the cheap)
2nd Choice... Have an Engine Rebuild - I will first need to find an engine (X16XE) and then have my other engine out and new 1 put in.... I would not be able to do this due to the fact that I know pretty much F**k all about engine parts etc etc....
I only have a budget of £300-£400!!! (I am a Student )
Any Ideas...?
Thanks ppl your help is much appreciated

£300-400 is barely going to give you a sensible solution, save up and take the bus for a while!

na mate the car is still drivable and besides I do think that is enough for a mechanic who would probs charge me about £200 for a days work

You wont be able to afford an engine conversion and rebuild with £400, I got quoted 1200 just for conversion. Better just get them fixed, or flog the car and get a new 1

GSIRick - cheers for that I understand that I probs need to do something within the next few months or so... otherwise yea I may have an even bigger problem.... Would OIL additive slow down the wear and perhaps allow for the oil to actually stay in the car for a bit longer???
