I used to take the kicks for rugby when I was at school, and could get it over from the half way line on a full sized pitch without a problem.
I think the main reason the record isnt further is because you just dont kick it from that distance during in game play. Im sure a lot of the kickers in the NFL can get it from that distance in practice without a problem.

American's can't kick, when i went to the world of sport my dad put the american football over from about 40 metres out and it went straight over the backing netting and onto the dual carriage way behind....... he was a legend for what must of been 30 seconds
