I've just changed the number plate. The renewal notice has the old registration on it, it came in before the reg. was changed, as does the insurance docs, but the V5 shows the new registration. I've tried taxing it online and it keeps saying this registration is not recognised even tho I've got all the relevant paper work from them showing it transfered and a new tax disc with the new reg on it up till the end of this month. I've spent most of the morning trying to speak to another human being at DVLA but can't get past prerecorded messages
Whats the chances of a post office issuing a tax disc over the counter, when the insurance and renewal notice are different from the reg showing on the V5? Nil I take it?
Tax is up today HELP!!!

How long ago did you phone the insurance company to tell them about the reg change? Shouldn't take long for them to get a new cover note sent through with the new reg on.

go to the post office they'll do it over the counter
as long as you can prove the registration change.

Ermmmm..............this morning on the phone But they said it would go through their system within the hour, so if I was renewing online it should be fine. But it won't bloody well let me renew online, so the Post Office seems the next move

Did you receive a document showing the reg transfer? If so then the post office would be able to see that the insurance is covering the car and that you are legit surely?

Yes I did, but I've read through it, it doesnt actually show the old registration on it only the new registration. The renewal notice is for the old reg.
