Had some alright quotes with these.

They any good?

Can you use the NCB at the end of the 10 months with other companies or is it worth paying that little extra and going for the annual 12 month cover.

I am currently insured with one, have been for 12 months so far, and had 1 NCB (and a massive reduction) 2 months back.

You pay slightly more a month than you would with a normal policy, but IMO, it's worth it

Do it.

Thats when the problems occur. Flux were the best for my renewal but wouldnt honour them. I ended up wishing I was patient and done 12 months to save the hassel

To get more business, it attracts people to buy it as they get NCB quicker.

I don't think thats correct, as all the 12 month policies were dearer than the 10 month accelerators.

Well they would be, but if you divide the 12 month one by 12, and the 10 month by 10, the 12 month will be less...

90% of the time the ncb you get with the "accelerator policy" just counts with the company your insured with. That was the case with almost all the companies i phoned.

Its just a way for them to make sure you stay insured with them.....

I'd say it proves tricky come renewal to find a company, especially the cheapest one to honour the 10 month accelerator, only certain ones do and they then may not be the cheapest.

It seems to vary from person to person though as shown above, I considered it but thought in the long run 12 months was a safer option.

I have had no problems getting other companies to accept the no claims with either me, mum or dad.

All the companies normally want is a bit of paper saying you have x amount of no claims.

But as above, above, it may very well vary from person to person.

Actually there is nothing to say they are from a bonus accelerator policy?

Why are people having trouble.

I had trouble for another reason rcently, wrote away to admiral who sent me a letter stating no claims, no metion of a bonus accelerator policy.

What would happen if you done 5 10 month policys then 1 12 month?
