yeh ive had 100's of fines from this but a mate told me they can give you 60 quid fine ans 3 points?! i thought the most you could get was a 30 quid fine?

100's of them.....................I would have thought one £30 fine would be enough to deter you from doing it 
I dont know about points but if the plate is a private one they can take it off you!

im going back to normal plates after hemel police treid to impound mine ! not worth the hassel imo and i have been fined £ 30 and had 7 producers because of them, not forgeting goin to mot stations and having the slip stamped everytime  looks good but causes too much sh*t

The police could "seize" the plates there and then as evidence of the offence committed.
Unless you've got a spare set in your boot you'll be locking the car up and walking home
