Mate wanted some help, he currently has a 1.2 8v Corsa B P-Reg. He will have around £1800 - £2k next year for a newer car.
Which out of these 2 should he go for?

for 2k i would get a late low millage corsa sport 1.4 or if i could get insured a 1.6

The 1.6 astras are slower than the 1.2 16 valve b. The astra is more comfortable and build quality far better. Its a hard decision, tbh i wudnt have either, but if i had to choose it wud be the corsa. Astra has a lot more room etc - just depends wot u want the car for.

but for 2000 you will probs get a decent mk 3 sport 1.8/2.0 on a p/r reg with low millage, any mk4 will be a dog imo and the 2k would get a sport on a w reg with about 60k millage

1.6 corsa will be extremly faster than the 1.6 8 valve astra, and still quite a bit quicker than the 1616 astra. The 1.6 8 valve astra is only group 4 insurance whereas the corsa 1.6 is 10 or 11
