hia,
I'm currently sitting on 5 years NCB, it seems the majority of insurers say 5 is the maximum, has anyone encountered an insurer that will give a further discount for 6-7 years?
For example when insuring with Direct Line, they ask if you have Five or More years NCB, I'm going to be shifting cars soon and will end up on an insurance policy paid for by my company who won't be using my NCB... the only reason I will keep my own personally policy active for the majority of this year will be to build more NCB.
If its not worth it, I may just save myself 400-500 quid and not have my own policy. Thoughts and opinions?

5 is the maximum you get on your account.that reduces payment.Anything after that is just numbers.....

It used to be 7 but they've reduced it across the board. Yes 5 is the maximum but more years can get you a very small discount with a minority of companies.

Some insurance companies protect after 4 years!
I know mine does. (Something I gotta do next year when I finally reach it!)

Im on 5 years now - protected!
iirc you have to keep it going & if you dont use it for so many years you loose your ncd entitlement?
