What a fantastic weekend!! Awesome experience. It really is overwelming. I understand coverage in this country is rubbish these days of the race but im not sure why. Its so much more exciting than most F1 races these days. The whole experience was brilliant and one that can't really described but one I shall definately be going back for in the future.
The weather wasn't the greatest, I dont think ive got so burnt and so drenched in the same few days. I also don't rate foreign people much but pretty much 50% of spectators were british anyway.
We managed to max out the cameras memory card there so plenty of pics shall follow when I have time to upload them and am a bit more awake!
Anyone else go or watch the race on Motors TV? I want to know what happened to the Peugeot that stopped on the last lap?!
Hope everyone has had a pleasant weekend

One of the Audis crashed out quite badly early on, think the second Audi had quite a nasty crash also in the early hours but I missed that. Also saw a Corvette spin out on the start and finish straight and get beached in the gravel, they had to retire. Must have been absolutely fuming because he was only trying to warm his tyres up while the safety car was out lol.

Watched some of it on Motors yeah.
Aye, 3rd placed Audi smacked the wall before the main (poncyfied) straight. Spent ages trying to get it in gear and limp it back to the pits.
Never saw the end, had 6 minutes left and everyone was crusing, but then the 2nd WSB came on so had to flick over.
Looked VERY wet at the end of the race.
Fealt sorry for the Radical team who crashed right at the bloody start.

What do you mean poncyfied? Tetre au rouge has had changes this year. Are you referring to the chicanes on Mulsanne?
I felt sorry for lamborghini who were up most of the night before the race overhauling their car while the others rested, only to retire one and half laps into the race. Was annoying really because the V12 noise was immense and the huge flames it was kicking out would have made for a great spectacle at night.

Sorry, that should say like its read.
Poncy-fied (i.e the Mulsanne straight, thats actually 3 straights and 2 chincanes now )
TBH, where were all the cars this year? Not watched LeMansd for a while, but i remember loads of cars, but this year i only spotted about 40 odd? Quite a small field this year?
Still, something on my events calander to do. Be it was awesome fun? You ferry it accross and drive over to LeMans? Camp or Hotel it?

You would have to camp it! A few of my brothers mates went last year in mini's and a metro, his mate crashed his mini about 10 mins away from home!

The peugeot on the last lap waited for the audi to come round and catch up again, so that it could be in the finishing photos alongside the Audi.
Trying to steal some of audi's thunder, but you can understand why, because they placed fantastically considering how new it is.
the second audi to retire lost a wheel and span out apparently.
The safety car came out every time the rain got quite heavy, which was a bit crap. the teams should be able to decide when they need to come in to change to wets, or whether to just drop the pace a little untill it dried back out.
Possible conspiracy from the ACO as the peugeot's might not have had any wet weather testing done.
The first three hours of racing were fantastic, and the middle was quite good. the end wasn't the best, but all in it was an excellent weekend.

See on TV as soon as the rain come out, the pace car came out.
Then the 1st audi smacked the wall, then 3 pace cars came out.
So not onyl have they cut that straight and 250+mph speeds in the late 80's (modern LeMans cars are touching 210mph only), but they have pace cars come out when it rains?
I thoguht the whole idea of racing is to race? If the rain comes out, you drive slow back to the pits for a tyre swap.
Pace cars suck, far too many about these days

My dad got the impression they brought the pace car out to help Peugeot out a bit, so they could fix their car while Audi was stuck behind it.
