When i put my coilovers on last year they were catching on my tyres so I ended up having to add a 9.5mm spacer to the fronts.

Will this have reduced my offset?

Wheels ET 45, - 9.5mm spacer = ET 35.5?

Have I understood this correct or totally wrong?!

And If I was to buy another set of wheels which were say ET35, they would be fine to run without spacers?

I've got my eye on a set of wheels I want before the F&M show next month, and want to know before I buy them as they are an extra 0.5" wide so can't really afford to run spacers aswell.

That's right, the spacer makes the number lower.

So in theory if my new wheels are ET35 then they should clear the coilover ok as this is pretty much whats on at the moment.

Currently 16" x 7" will be going 16" x 7.5"

Stretch the same 195/40/16 tyres over so will fit inside the arch the same.

it'll only be 1/4" closer to the coilover, so I'd imagine it'll be fine.
