some people are funny.

if a car has NO mot and it gets MOT'D the issue date on the dertificate is the day it passes-not any date before. back dating an mot is impossible and illegal-u would be telling the police that "here is my certificate that says it was MOT'd on the date i was issued with producer"-which is a lie-illegal.

if u have an MOT on the 15th of a month but its valid until the 25th of that month, the extra ten days get added on to the new certificate.

stavs-get it mot'd, take it to the bacon shop-explain u genuinley didnt no it had ran out and that u now have one and hope for the best mate.

If it gets spotted hold your hands up, but if it doesn't - job's a goodun

Mate got a £60 fine when he got stopped with no MOT (did the same as you and got it done in the next couple of days) , no points so it's not the end of the world . It is a court appearance jobbie though .

TBF, they print stickers for you to put in the car on the new MOT's (which are about 2 years old now), so they do provide something to help you remeber. Suppose it wouldn't hurt to send a reminder out, but then it's another cost for them to do it.

Write it on the calender like you have to with the anneversary with the missus
