Basically i need to make a choice and need some advice. (from you wise people on CS )

I have been working for this company for 4 years, which was my first job since leaving school. There is about 10 of us in the office. Now lately i have become quite bored of the surroundings and the projects that i am currently doing. However i like the people i work with and get on very well with them, and sort of a senior member of staff as most are graduates that have only just left University, which unfortunately get payed alot more than me, even though im teaching them.
Now the pay is shit at £14.5k at the moment, however pay rise is due in July.

I sent a CV for a job recently and have offered me an interview for the position, however its with a significantly bigger office that im with now (150 in the one office) and pays £20k - but is in the middle of Leicester with no payed parking spaces.

Im not sure on the jump up from a small office being a senior'ish member of staff to a office where i would just sit there and get told what to do for a more significant wage increase, would be a step down?

I think my current company would go upto about £17k if i decided to leave with the same career opportunites, but i get free parking etc.

So is it worth the change for 3k plus in wages?

I think you need to decide wether your ready for this step up and to start learning again. If you are, go for it.

Go to your current employers first and express your views to them. Tell them your an expereinced member who is training others, and you dont feel valued. If they value you then they'll up your pay and hopefully the position too.

If not them be prepared to hand in your resignation and find another job...as if your current employers arent prepared to help you move up after 4yrs then they are never going to.
