in the process of respraying part of bumper...but don't know if i need to apply lacquer

if it wasnt laquered it would b flat if it has been laquered it would b noticably

the clearcoat is laquer yes, but not what you get at halfords, sometimes the paint from the factory has the basecoat and clearcoat all in one mix

2k paint ideally but you wont get that from halfords, if it was me id want the whole bumper sprayed at a bodyshop as it will probably stand out a mile

so I can't get clearcoat in spray cans?

I have a spray can of custom mixed paint and don't know whether it contains basecoat and clearcoat

that will be after the holidays

I will get it done again completely and get the car a good mop.

I want to go for tuning mods first rather than cosmetics (which will be done later)

Simple test if your ever not sure - get some T-cut and polish a spot - any paint that comes off the colour of the car means there's not clearcoat/lacquer .
