They've just said that even though a 150mph top speed was claimed, they barely do 140mph

I feel voilated by this news

the one they did 150 in along the m1 or m6 was tunned to make sure it hit it

How? A ventilated disk is cooled by rotating. If it is inside a wheel then it is shielded from airflow. If it is bolted onto the diff under the car the air will flow under the car and over the disk giving you a little bit more cooling.

They'd gone futher than restoring it though, it had 4 pots, ventilated disks, coilovers, modern tyres, modern engine.... e.t.c....

Yea, not sure what the point in them really is. You should respect a car for what it is. I mean all those upgrades are certainly nice and probably improve the car a hell of a lot, but you are trying to turn a classic car into something it isn't. I guess the car was the top of the line version and you could get them to do any number of modifications. It just looked odd to me to see and E Type with bright yellow coilovers and some AP 4 pots with cross drilled disks...

I would argue that point. You don't have to up the cars engine performance figures to make the car faster.
