I cant remeber if it was topgear or 5th gear that had that competition open to restore an unusual classic car.
think there were quite a few choices at least 4-5, one included at lotus that was james deans and he was due to recieve it the day before he crashed his porsche speedster and died but they ever delivered it in time.
there were a few others etc but what ever happend to them.
did one get chosen and restored or not?

pretty sure it was topgear that had a poll going and you voted for one and they were going to rescue and restore it!

Wasn't it lotus that "did up" that skoda?

It was TG, there was a Range Rover owned by the Queen too.
I don't remember them doing anything in the end though
